Problem Description :-

How to upgrade the Netbackup client from 6.5 to 6.5.4 on HP UX Machine’s

Platform : - Storage – Backup – VERITAS Netbackup

           

Version : VERITAS Netbackup 6.5.4 Client

Not able to take the Local File system backup & its failing with error code – 49

STEP 1:

n Stop the old netbackup client and backup jobs if running and disable the policy in Master server.

STEP 2:

The below mention Netbackup patches are required to update the Netbackup client

1.  NB_CLT_6.5.4

2.  NB_JAV_6.5.4

STEP 3 :

Copy the above packages to temporary location on Unix machine like /tmp,/var

Note: The above both packages should be copied on the same location

STEP 4:

Extract the packages and keep as below

STEP 5 :

Start the installation by refer the below session logs.

Once the installation is completed enable the policy on the netbackup master server and reconnect the client.

It will show the client name and update version (6.5.4) & test the backup.

Soultion :-

The Netbackup client has been upgraded from 6.5 to 6.5.4 and tested the

Backup and it started working fine.
